It is Apt to Cause Eye Disorder by Employing Contact Lenses While You Have a Cold

27/04/2010 10:51

Women are born with love of beauty. And it is really inconvenient sometimes to wearing reading glasses for people with myopia. Therefore, wearing contact lenses is one kind of fashion as well as life of convenience. However, contact lenses, after all, are not something you are supposed to wear for a long time, and you need to pay extra attention to a lot of things. Therefore, one should avoid wearing contact lenses when he is having a cold.

When having a cold, people wearing contact lenses will feel the eyes easy to weep and the eyes will become inflammation. Flu virus may cause ocular diseases such as viral keratitis. Because people who have the cold will blow the nose and sneeze with hands muffling the mouth. There will be a large of bacteria on the hands, and germs and viruses are easy to go into the eyes and pollute the cornea when wearing and removing the contact lenses.

Nor is it appropriate for us to wear them when we catch a fever. During the fever, the resistance of eyes will decline, and tear secretion will reduce, therefore the bacteria will multiply. Eyes metabolites deposited in between the cornea and the lens, and make its oxygen permeability decreased and the eyes vulnerable to diseases.

Advice from the ophtalmologist: It is best for those who wear contact lenses to turn to frame eyeglasses online if they catch a cold or fever. In addition, you should be careful with the medicine you chosen even when you are wearing contact lenses, Because some medicines of anti-cold, cough or pain contain the ingredients which suppress tears. The decrease of tear secretion will make the contact lenses too dry, reduce transparency, thereby affecting vision. Cornea itself is easy to dry, if we further reduce the moist level of the cornea, many inflammation might come into being, such as keratitis, conjunctivitis, and make the eyes red, itchy and have a feeling there is foreign matters in them.
